Activities to do when in Murchison National Park plus the Prices Involved
The country Uganda has an abundance of 10 safari
parks plus many other more attractions that are open for tourism and the
diversity of the Uganda tourism industry can keep the tourist engaged for more
than 4 weeks.
Organized trips for private and small group safaris
have been made in Uganda but mostly to Murchison Falls National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park to mention
but a few.
The park was established in 1952, by the Game Department
enthused and the main tourist attractions of this park was definitely the
unique Murchison Falls as well as the River Nile with its streaming wild life
of hippo and serried ranges of crocodile
along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different other species of
wild game.
The biggest spotlight presently of the Murchison is the launch
trip up the stream to observe the fall and riverbank wildlife which starts at
09.00 and 14.00 every day and takes 3 hrs, and the other one is the boat trip which
goes downstream from Paraa down to the papyrus delta at the point where the
river enters into Lake Albert and this is a 4 to 5 hr return adventure trip

the Murchison Falls is the river Nile which offers exciting challenges to anglers

sport fishing by prior booking and fishing gear equipment is needed.

The Flora and Fauna
Murchison falls National Park`s flora and fauna is subjugated by
woodland, wetland, savannah as well as tropical forest that is well known to be
a habitant for over 76 wild mammal species and over 450 different bird species.
The wild at the park include hippos, Rothschild’s giraffes, Warthog, Cape buffalo,
Uganda Kob, Hartebeest and Elephants while the Nile corridor of the Murchison
has a big collection of water birds such as rare shoebill stork and also has a
large concentration of Nile crocodile.
